Brand Lifestyle Photography | Umpqua Bank

I recently worked with SKY MARKETING and their client, UMPQUA BANK, out of Portland, Oregon.

Project Details: Create a high profile magazine as part of a lead-generation campaign for Umpqua Bank Wealth.

Location: Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, California

Overview: Photos of the UWA team and events/activities from their daily lives will be included (A) on the UWA landing page, and (B) the “Magazine” being developed as part of a Q2 lead-generation campaign.  Photos may be used for other marketing collateral, as needed.  Photos need to be usable in high-end print materials as well as online.

Photo Style: Photos need to be natural light and authentic. The reason we’re using real photos as opposed to stock or marketing photos is to convey trust and likability to clients and prospects of UWA.  With the exception of overt headshots, the bulk of the photos should feature real interactions with other humans as well as the subjects engaging in work or doing about their daily activities (as opposed to obviously staged photos).

Brand Lifestyle Photography | 1220 Artisan Spirits

What is brand lifestyle photography? For me, it means bringing a brand to life with authentic-real life images. It is a way to capture the moment as it happens. It allows your audience to imagine being there or engaging with the brand you are selling. In today’s world, everything is visual. Lifestyle type photography is everywhere! You remember the “moments and experiences” captured in life… not the staged photo shoot!

THIS IS ME. This is how I like to shoot. This is how I visualize. I am not drawn to stock photography in studios with artificial lighting. I think there is a time and place for that, but that is not what my eye sees. My eye is drawn to street photography style, natural, real-life, authentic, not super staged. When I shoot for a product/business/brand, I shoot as if I was the consumer. How does the consumer see and experience your brand?

Attention to detail is very important, while keeping it real. For this shoot for 1220 Spirits, we had a food stylist, talent, set stylist along with direction from the client. 1220 spirits are canned, ready- to- go, botanically inspired cocktails. (and really, really good!) . These are unique cocktails that you don’t have to make yourself. It is an experience. Convenient. Sophisticated. Pinterest-worthy drinks that you can make at home without all the ingredients.

We wanted to stage an outdoor summer dinner party, playing off the botanicals that are infused in these drinks.

The brand is beautiful, with bright colors—the color pallet is consistent with the food, clothes, flowers, decor.
